Absolutely great! I bought a silver necklace from ETSY which I really liked but the clasp and jump ring were made for teeny tiny hands and fingers (that's not me!!) so I asked if they could be changed for something more sensibly sized. Sean changed them both out extremely quickly and for a very very reasonable price. 

Fast and professionally completed and I now have a lovely necklace I can put on in seconds and not have to fumble about for 10 minutes. Love it!

Thanks to Sean my sister now has a ring that she can wear. When I took it to him it had an emerald missing, a broken clasp and was heavily tarnished as it had sat in the bottom of her jewellery box for years. Sean has repaired the clasp, replaced the missing emerald and given the ring a good clean up. I am delighted with the result and am going to return it to my sister as part of her birthday present. It can  now be worn. It isn't a very valuable ring in monetary terms but it does have great sentimental value, so it is lovely to have it restored to its former glory.

Sean Botha recently repaired my partner's wristwatch. We'd been told by another repairer (not in Peterborough) that it was irreparable. We were really pleased when Sean phoned to say it was working. On collection he explained the repair.

Prior to this he repaired our Westminster Chiming Clock. Both repairs were exemplary, reasonably priced too.

Sean came to look at two longcase grandfather clocks; one wasn't working at all, the other was losing time and chiming off the hour.

In less than an hour he had them both up and running correctly and he explained how he had fixed them.

I recently had two items repaired by Sean.

One was a jump ring soldered closed for a chain pendant on a 9ct gold albert chain which was very well done.

The second was a 9ct gold signet type ring that was in a very poor state and missing a fair bit of gold due to previous repair, and made worse by myself. Sean managed to repair it to a very high standard, as I expected he would, after a previous jeweller said it was plated. Sean tested it and managed to fix what they said they couldn't. Avoid Jacey Gems and if possible use Sean, his prices are very reasonable.

Highly recommend, you won't be disappointed!

Firstly he returned my call, always a good start. Secondly he came to my home within 24 hours (I have a large bracket clock I didn't want to transport) and although it wasn't urgent I was pleased he gave me his priority. Most importantly he fixed my clock without fuss. He charged only his call out fee, which was very reasonable and was happy to chat and give me additional advice.  

I have no hesitation in giving him 10/10. Excellent.

I subsequently learned that he also specialises in jewellery repairs, so I had him clean and polish my engagement and wedding rings, as well as replate my husband's platinum and rhodium wedding band. My cherished watch, which holds significant sentimental value, required a new lens cover. Although I had it replaced approximately 10 years ago, Sean quickly identified that the previous lens was not the correct fit. The original design featured a flatter lens, so he expertly installed the appropriate one. To ensure a seamless fit, he skilfully shaved down the spindle, achieving a perfect result. Additionally, he took the time to clean the strap and made necessary adjustments to enhance its comfort and appearance.

I cannot express enough how impressed I am with Sean's work; he is not only incredibly talented but is an absolute pleasure to deal with. His versatility extends beyond watches and clocks as he also offers repairs and maintenance for jewellery and various mechanical items.
