In 2021, following lockdown, we decided to invest our saved holiday funds into refurbishing our garden, focusing primarily on the patio area. Our home, a 1930s property, had unattractive heavy industrial concrete slabs that had been in place for decades.

During our initial meeting with Gareth and Ian, we found them to be very helpful and full of advice – they then sign-posted us to a local supplier where we could choose the slabs we wanted.

Removing the existing slabs was not easy as they were incredibly heavy. The full area was then properly prepared for the laying of the new slabs. The work was carried out diligently and to the highest standard and we were absolutely delighted with the results - they did a sterling job.

In 2022, we enlisted their services again to handle the groundworks for a new log cabin after another company removed our old garage which had an asbestos roof.

Working with S2F Groundworks was a breath of fresh air compared to previous contractors; Gareth and Ian are not only friendly and conscientious but also demonstrate a strong work ethic and genuine pride in what they do, which is evident in their enthusiastic social media posts showcasing their projects.

During our initial meeting, Gareth and Ian visited our home, where we sat in the kitchen to outline our requirements. They listened to our vision and introduced several innovative ideas that demonstrated their extensive experience and expertise.

We decided to proceed with their services, and the project was divided into two phases. The task involved a complete overhaul of the garden, which included clearing the entire garden area to create a blank canvas. The transformation resulted in a new patio, a pathway lined with artificial grass, and block walls featuring internal planting areas that were beautifully rendered. Additionally, they extended the patio around our existing log cabin.

We are over the moon with our new garden. Gareth and Ian are the most friendly and helpful people you’ll meet; we couldn’t have had two nicer men – they were absolutely brilliant and the garden is stunning.

Even three years later, we still admire the garden daily, and we never needed any follow-up remedial work due to the exceptional quality of materials and craftsmanship.

I have told Gareth that anyone interested in seeing their work is more than welcome to visit. We couldn't be more satisfied.

S2F Groundworks completed two projects for us, the first being a comprehensive renovation of our back garden. This involved removing the old patio and replacing it with a larger one, along with the installation of a raised porcelain patio at the garden's lower end, connected by tiled steps. We were so happy with the transformation of the back garden that we had then back again in 2023 for a complete refurbishment of the front of the house, a significantly large area.

The previous driveway block paving, which had been in place for over two decades, had deteriorated significantly. It was completely removed and replaced with new block paving, featuring a stunning pathway leading to the front door, complemented by an attractive decorative border.

The quality of work, craftsmanship, and professionalism demonstrated by Gareth and Ian was truly exceptional. The fact that the work they did still looks like new is testament to that.

When I first met Gareth back in 2021, I found him very personable and he put me at ease straight away – a genuine nice guy. There was no high-pressure sales tactics, nothing was rushed, and I never felt under obligation in any way.

The quote he provided was detailed and transparent, which gave me complete confidence in their ability to deliver. They fulfilled all their promises, and I couldn't have been more satisfied with the outcome.

Their communication and work ethic were outstanding throughout each project. They demonstrated a high level of tidiness and respect for our property; for instance, even when they had a pile of sand set aside for use the following day, they took the time to bag it up and clean the surrounding area thoroughly.

This project, in 2024, was quite extensive and, from the very beginning to its successful conclusion, Gareth and Ian demonstrated exceptional professionalism and expertise that I cannot fault in any way.

During our first meeting, they instilled a sense of confidence in me, demonstrating their knowledge and understanding of the work at hand. They were punctual every day, maintained excellent communication throughout the process, and consistently cleaned and tidied the work area each evening.

They were also very transparent regarding costs, ensuring that any adjustments were discussed and agreed upon before proceeding, which exemplified their professionalism.

Although the completed project is showcased in Gareth’s gallery (the Al Fresco photograph), it was taken on a rainy day and does not fully capture the beauty of our new garden, particularly the kitchen area.

The project encompassed an expanded balcony area, a spacious new patio, and a raised section designed for a hot tub, complimented by decking, gravel, and a pathway encircling the lawn.

They maintained a high standard of cleanliness, ensuring that they cleared the site daily, even covering the skip outside my home with a tarpaulin and tidying the surrounding area.

Their professionalism and dedication were evident, making them a pleasure to have on my property. Gareth's suggestions significantly enhanced the project, such as the addition of a stone border around the grass, which he installed using leftover stones from another job at no extra cost.

The timing of the renovation coincided with a challenging period in my life due to the passing of my father, yet the team demonstrated remarkable care and compassion throughout.

The final results are nothing short of spectacular; every penny spent was worthwhile, and the exceptional quality of their work has ensured that my garden will remain beautiful and functional for years to come.
