Team 'Safe Local Trades' raises £2702.75 for Age UK Peterborough!

Safe Local Trades commenced their 2015 fund-raising program for chosen charity Age UK Peterborough – with something quite different!

On Sunday 12th April, a team of 25 people took part in Insane Terrain, with runners completing a 5k challenging assault course. This was not for the feint hearted and all runners showed true grit and determination, with many completing two laps of the 5k course, whilst tackling obstacles, sliding in mud or wading through water.

The event was enjoyed by all and the organiser, Eileen Le Voi, owner of Safe Local Trades, said “we would like to thank each and every member of Team Safe Local Trades, and to everyone who sponsored them, all of which helped to raise a phenomenal £2,702.75 for this very worthy local charity. Our next runners event will be the Great Eastern Run in October – we’d love to hear from potential new team members".

Eileen went on to say "we would also like to thank British Sugar, with Team Sugar Drop commencing our annual skydiving challenge. Our next event is Saturday 5th September – why not make this the year to cross your skydiving goal off the list ?".

David Bache, Chief Executive of Age UK Peterborough, said “we are so delighted with this excellent achievement by Eileen and the fabulous teams. This is a great start to the 2015 challenge, so my sincere thanks go to Eileen Le Voi, Team Safe Local Trades, Team Sugar Drops and all the wonderful volunteers who make such a difference to the work we do to help and support older people in Peterborough. Over the past few years, Eileen and Safe Local Trades has helped raise over £27,000 - no other local company has ever raised this amount for our charity and we are enormously grateful".
